a comprehensive history of anarchist trends in the 20th century United States. Cornell takes the reader from the anarchists' heyday in the early decades of the century up to the anti-glbal capitalism movement of the 1990s. In between, he discusses the role anarchism played in the avant-garde, Beat and counterculture movements, while also explaining its influence in the antiwar, antiracist and feminist movements....an important and useful work.
