Victor had the good fortune of being raised in Mumbai - the city that never sleeps...
After spending years writing short stories, skits, articles and screenplays this is his first foray in novel writing. Four years in the writing, after countless attempts to "novelize" the story, Victor eventually decided to make it a 'young adult' genre. Not only due to the fact that the main protagonist is 21 yrs. old but also due to the lack of books in this genre in India. This was very glaring while Victor was growing up in Mumbai and had to resort to 'imports' to satiate his reading thirst. His debut novella, a first of its kind fiction for young adults, is a fitting tribute to the city of Bombay, its spirit, its will and its heart.

Travel back in History

One of my favorite novella. It made me travel back in history. Intrigued me to research about the incidents, characters and buildings. Will surely be enjoyed by all age groups. Thumbs up to Victor Truth to present an interesting idea. I won't be surprised if this book will be made into a movie.

Awesome read.....Fast paced novel
Author has succeed in creating a high end drama. Story takes you back and forth through the pages of history. Author was able to intervene two different eras to create cues to unfold the secrete hidden in the heart of the Good Ole Bombay.

Poseidon-T is an endearing book. It has sports, giant robots, and monster aliens from outer space. But at it's heart this is a teen-age bromance fantasy through and through. The artwork is crisp and clean and ver cinematic. You can almost see this being made into a feature film. It's a fun read.

The artwork is great! The colors really set the mood of the of the scenes. (where it goes form a beautiful sunny day, then get washed out by red, and later sickly-green when danger happens). the heroes Gonzalo & Poseidon where really cute together. even though the story was very tame I surprisingly found the romantic scans erotic. The story really built and built... and with that I have to say the ending threw me for a loop...

Far Better than the Press Release Says

I've read all of Mr. Berry's essays, from his very first up to and including this collection.
I believe these are some of the best he has ever written.
They are mature, thoughtful, and wise.
His writing style is deliberate, and his essays here are sometimes lengthy but never boring. They pull you in and require participation on your part, not just a skimming over or a diversionary read.
Whoever wrote the official summary for the book shown on Amazon's title page (and elsewhere), did a very poor job. It doesn't accurately reflect the content of the book and the intelligence, passion, and compassion in his work.
Reading some of these won't make you feel good, and that's not Mr. Berry's purpose. But I guarantee they will make you feel, and for an essayist, that's a worthy accomplishment.
I wish Wendell Berry was more widely read than he is. He's an American treasure, a true patriot, and smart as hell.
One final note: I enjoyed the physical size of the hardcover. It's smaller than his latest collections of poetry, and easy to grasp and read. The font is clear, the line spacing on the pages perfect, so buy this, borrow it, or whatever- just get ahold of a copy and enjoy Wendell at his best.

Yes it is "Our Only World".

Wendell Bery never fails. You can open to any random page and be drawn in by his clear logic and real world examples. "There can be no balance between freedom and secret police, freedom and universal suspicion, freedom and tyranny. There is only choice." Be ready for many more.
